This month’s closet raid features the wonderful Retro Queen.
We found her on twitter (@retroqueenb) and were blown away by her fabulous style- Instant girl crush, her hair is also amazing!
We believe that vintage fashion is all about expressing your individuality, and Retro Queen certainly embodies that ethos.
My motto is: Mixing and matching modern with vintage is the game and I love playing it!
The Versatile dress
I think this is my favourite ever dress! It’s so pretty, feminine and easy to wear and I feel great when I’m in It! I love the soft pastel colours, the cut and it looks fabulous worn with a petti coat too!
Dress from Retro Queen Boutique (I couldn’t resist keeping it) 1980’s does 50’s style. Worn with vintage shrug with modern heels and accessories.
Tip: It’s a very versatile dress; I’ve worn it with a cute jumper over the top and flats for a more casual look or dressed up with heels.
I fell in love with the collar on this shirt as soon as I saw it, and It was only £3! The jumper I picked up at a vintage fair last year and instantly loved the shape and cut. Its warm but also flattering at the same time! Bouns! The skirt was another charity shop find at £1.99 and it works well for winter and summer! I love the colours in this outfit and feel they all flow well together.
Jumper: Vintage, from vintage fair. Shirt: Vintage, from charity shop. Skirt: Modern, from charity shop. Boots: Modern, from New Look

Oh so Boho
This is my dreamy 70’s BoHo look. This dress is the perfect autumn/winter addition to your wardrobe and can be styled up in so many ways! I like to add an extra layer with waistcoats, plus it’s a great way to tie in colours together as the rest of my accessories including the boots are different shades of green. I like adding scarfs or brooches to bags to add that extra unique touch!
Dress: Vintage 70’s. Waistcoat/necklace/bag/scarf: Vintage. Boots/belt: Modern.
Simple and impactful
This dress drew me in with its colours and pattern. It’s simple but effective and fits me really well. That’s the key to a great outfit! I’ve not added much to the dress but gone for a slight clash by adding a thick bracelet and chunky boots for a bit of contrast.
Tip: Check out vintage e-tailers, charity shops and swap clothes with friends to save even more money
Classic summer chic
Another chic vintage summer dress, with its floaty hem line and beautiful pattern. Perfect for a summer garden party ( I have yet to go to one!)- we think you will this year!
Tip: Keep accessories simple and colour coordinated
